Free SEO Audits in Pakistan: What a Useful One Covers

A useful SEO audit tells you, in plain words, which problems are holding your website back on Google and which few to fix first. Plenty of agencies in Pakistan offer one for free, and many free audits are an automated report with a sales pitch attached. This guide covers what a real audit includes, what to give whoever does it, and how to tell a useful free audit from a lead magnet.

What a useful audit covers

Not a thin Lighthouse report with a PDF you’ll never read. A real audit, whether it arrives as a document or a screen-recorded walkthrough, covers:

  • Technical health. Site speed (TTFB, Largest Contentful Paint, Cumulative Layout Shift), mobile-friendly score, broken links, redirect chains, sitemap and robots.txt health.
  • On-page optimisation. Whether your title tags, meta descriptions, headings, and URL structure are actually targeting the queries your customers use.
  • Local SEO. Whether you appear in the Google Maps pack for “your-service near me” in your service area, whether your Google Business Profile is claimed and optimised, NAP consistency across the major Pakistani directories.
  • Content gaps. Which queries you should be ranking for that you’re not, and what content would close the gap.
  • Competitor benchmarking. Two or three of your closest competitors and what they’re doing that you’re not.
  • Three things to fix this week. Specific, prioritised, achievable, whether you hire the auditor or do the work in-house.

How to judge a free audit

Free audits exist because they are a sales conversation: you see how the agency thinks, and the agency sees whether your business has an SEO opportunity worth its time. That is fine, as long as the audit is useful on its own. A useful one:

  • Names specific pages and specific searches on your own site, not general advice that would fit any website.
  • Prioritises: a short list of what to fix first, not a hundred-row checklist.
  • Says so when SEO isn’t your best channel right now, and paid ads or content should come first.
  • Is the whole audit. There is no “part 2” you have to pay for to see the findings; paying someone to implement the fixes is a separate decision.

Be wary of an automated score that no person has looked at, alarming red warnings about issues that don’t affect rankings, and any promise of page-one rankings by a date.

What to give whoever does it

  • Your website URL.
  • Your top 2-3 service or product offerings.
  • The 5-10 keywords you wish you ranked for in Pakistan (or just “help me figure out what those should be”).
  • Read-only access to your Google Search Console and Google Analytics if you have them. Optional, but the audit is sharper with them. Read-only is enough: an audit never needs your passwords or full admin access.

What happens after

You’ll either decide to fix things in-house, hand the fix-list to your current agency, or hire someone to do it for you. A good audit is written so that any of the three works. If you want to see how we approach search, including AI search, it is on our SEO and AI search page; for a business in Karachi, our SEO services in Karachi start with an audit of where you stand.

Common questions

Is a free audit really free? A good one is: the findings are the whole audit, and only implementing the fixes is paid work. If the useful part is held back until you pay, it was a sales pitch.

What if my site is in a tough niche? Still worth doing. Tough niches are exactly where audits surface the highest-impact opportunities — the small handful of fixes that move the needle most. Easy niches you can rank in without much help.
